TABARCA ISLAND

Boat trip to Tabarca Island

The Tabarca archipelago consists of a main island, Tabarca or Nueva Tabarca, which is 1,800 meters long and 400 meters wide, along with islets like La Cantera, La Galera, and La Nao. Its terrain is flat, not exceeding 15 meters in height. At the western end is the walled village of San Pedro and San Pablo.

Located three miles from Cabo de Santa Pola and eight miles from Alicante, Tabarca belongs to the latter city. The population is concentrated in the western part, while the eastern side features only a tower and old farmland.

The waters of Tabarca are crystal clear, with depths ranging from 22.5 to 47.5 meters, fostering great marine biodiversity. The reserve has enabled the recovery of fish species such as groupers, dentex, and gilthead bream.

Its historical heritage includes 18th-century walls, cobbled streets, the Church of San Pedro and San Pablo (1770), a former quarantine station, and a lighthouse from 1854 that is still in operation.

Follow these guidelines to make the most of your tour

To fully enjoy your boat tour in total comfort, we recommend wearing light and breathable clothing. During cooler months, a windbreaker can be useful, as the sea breeze can be stronger offshore.

To ensure the safety of all passengers, it is important to follow these rules:
✔️ Smoking is not allowed on the boat.
✔️ Do not throw waste into the sea.
✔️ Follow the crew’s instructions at all times.
✔️ Excessive alcohol consumption and any behavior that may jeopardize the safety of the trip are not permitted.

The sun at sea can be intense. Don’t forget to bring:
– Water-resistant sunscreen.
– UV-filter sunglasses.
– A hat or cap.
– A water bottle to stay hydrated.

Choose comfortable, non-slip footwear to prevent slipping on board. Avoid heels or smooth soles that may make moving around the boat difficult.

Boat tours are a great experience for young ones. To ensure they enjoy it to the fullest, we recommend:
✔️ Bring sunscreen and a cap.
✔️ Keep some water and light snacks handy.
✔️ Make sure children wear the provided life jacket.

The sea is a fragile ecosystem, and we must take care of it. We ask you to:
– Do not throw trash into the water.
– Do not collect corals, shells, or marine life.
– Respect protected areas and local wildlife.

The boat trip was spectacular, with stunning views of the Benidorm coast. Everything was well organized, although I would have liked the tour to include more time for swimming.
